Other films that performed exceptionally well at the box office in 2019 included “Frozen II,” the long-awaited sequel to Disney’s 2013 animated hit, which grossed over $477 million in the United States and Canada and $1.450 billion globally, making it the highest-grossing animated film of all time; “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” the first Marvel movie released after “Avengers: Endgame,” which grossed over $390 million domestically and $1.131 billion worldwide; and “Captain Marvel,” the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first female-led superhero movie, which grossed over $426 million in the United States and Canada and $1.128 billion worldwide.
